Joshua Edelstein
Founder & CEO
Joshua Edelstein grew up listening to KTUH, the University of Hawaiʻi college radio station. That and the short-lived Radio Free Hawaiʻi shaped what he thought a radio station should sound like. The combination of that aesthetic and the desire to help independent artists have a voice on the radio eventually led him to found GroundWaves in 1999. Formerly the bassist for Washington DC bands Mobia's Trip and Guyana Koolaid as well as Honolulu band Fountainhead, Edelstein now performs in JD and the Robbery, Autodialer and as one half of the "duo" A Bass And Its Boy.
