Hopping Over June Into a Hip July
2009.07.10

Hello GroundWaves fans! Been a while since we put out an update; but we're still here for you. June was busy working on the back end of the GroundWaves site. We lost two staff members and half of our funding, so we've been spending all of our time working out less expensive hosting and broadcast solutions that will help us focus on serving both our artists and our audience while saving both time and money. We haven't changed anything yet, but within the next couple of months we'll be changing a few things around.

On to the music! We've got two great hip-hop artists for you today. Boston's Su-kin combines her amazing flow with heavy metal guitars on her track "Don't Leave Me Here." If she sounds tough, it's because she is--in addition to being a badass MC, she's also a warrior in the US Army. Once you listen up, you're guaranteed to stand up and salute her.

From Carey NC comes rapper RAH-1, who brings a bit of Jersey attitude to the South. It's not unusual for hip-hop artists to throw a little R&B into the mix, but most unsigned MCs don't do it as well as RAH-1 does. We liked his single "Can't Wait" enough that we asked him to let us throw the not-yet released title track from his latest record All My Life into the broadcast.
