New Artists
2005.01.31
Do you like '80s music? We do, and we're betting that so do the gents in New York's Ivory Tower Project. Their catchy songs, driven by synth-pop keyboards and electronic drums, bring to mind artists ranging from Bananarama to Journey to Herbie Hancock.
Continuing with our '80s theme, Rick McAlister sounds like a laid-back Thomas-Dolby-in-training. The Asheville, NC artist uses minimalist synth instruments to create his one-man musical strip-down. Getting on a little bit more more of the mod side of the '80s, Arlington VA's Redeemers are like a poor man's Fleshtones, and we mean that in a good way. In fact, when the Fleshtones are playing their town, they request that the Redeemers open up for them!
